Moataz loves finding problems and fixing them. He started his career as a mobile developer, but when he saw firsthand how painful mobile development was, he founded Instabug (now Luciq), the mobile app observability platform, to fix it. Instabug was one of the first companies from the Middle East to be admitted into Y Combinator, and the first in the region to raise a Series A from Accel. Within a couple of years, it was named the third-fastest-growing SaaS company by Forbes and had reached 25,000 customers, 400 million reported issues, and 2 billion devices running its SDK worldwide.
Moataz is a prolific angel investor, with early bets in Supabase, Daytona, and Better Auth. He also co-founded CTO Fund, a fund of active CTOs that invests $100K in highly technical founders. At 1984, he brings the same lens to AI infrastructure, devtools, and AI applications.
